Melanie Sofia Bauer has been appointed as
Miss Earth Germany 2015. This was officially announced on facebook by
Sina Schmid, the National Director of Miss Earth Germany who also owns
Miss Earth Austria. The Miss Earth Germany organizers could not conduct a pageant this year as a result of too much workload in preparing for the 15th edition of Miss Earth pageant to be hosted in Vienna, Austria. Therefore, 21-year-old Melanie studying Medicine at
the Martin Luther University in Halle Wittenberg has been handpicked to represent Germany in Miss Earth 2015. She had earlier competed in Miss Earth Austria 2015 won by Sophie Totzauer.

Germany is yet to win the Miss Earth title but was placed in semifinal as Top 16 in 2012 courtesy of Nel-Linda Zublewitz. The first German delegate at Miss Earth was Miriam Thiele.
