Arna Ýr Jónsdóttir from Kopavogur was crowned Miss World Iceland 2015 at the end of the beauty pageant held on September 5, 2015 in Harpa concert hall. Arna is 20 years, nursing student and a professional Pole Vault Athlete. She battled out 23 other contestants to be crowned by the outgoing queen Tanja Ýr Ástþórsdóttir Miss World Iceland 2014 who failed to be placed. Being the new crowned Miss World Iceland 2015, she will represent Iceland in the Miss World pageant coming up in China late this year.

 Also at the end of the event four other queens were crowned. Íris Rós Hauksdóttir won Miss Iceland Top Model 2015, Malín Agla Kristjánsdóttir crowned Miss Talent Iceland 2015, Telma Fanney Magnúsdóttir won Miss Sports Iceland 2015 while Helena Reynisdóttir was crowned People’s Choice Iceland 2015.

Iceland a country with less than half a million population has a record of three win in Miss World pageant - 1985 by Hólmfríður Karlsdóttir being the first queen from Iceland to win Miss World, Linda Pétursdóttir in 1988, and last win till date was in 2005 by Unnur Birna Vilhjálmsdóttir. Usually until 2009, the winners of the national contest proceed to represent the country in the international pageants - Miss Universe, Miss World and Miss International. But the tradition changed after 2009, that delegate is sent to only Miss World pageant.
