Kate Pekuri is Miss Idaho Teen USA 2016. She was crowned by last year's queen, Chaise Goris on September 19 at the same event where Sydney Halper was crowned Miss Idaho USA 2016. The 17-year-old and 5'8" tall queen represented Treasure Valley at the contest. She bested 15 other contestants to win the title and will be representing Idaho at Miss Teen USA 2016 where current Miss Teen USA Katherine Haik will crown her successor. Kate's court includes 1st runner-up Hailey Kelso, 2nd runner-up Amanda Kelly, 3rd runner-up Gabrielle Simpson and 4th runner-up Natalie Campbell.  Kaily Ode, Kylie Costa, Sheva Mozafari, Lizzi Zieba and Chelsea Hilde complete the Top 10.

Kate is a varsity cheerleader at Capital High School and a ski instructor at Bogus Basin primarily for the 3-6 year old in the "Mouse House" where she learned how to ski more than 13 years ago. She hopes to further to University of Utah after high school. She's also involved in community service where she has contributed an organization known as Camp Rainbow Gold for cancer patients and siblings. Trying to balance academic with extra curricular activities, Kate maintains a GPA of 4.0.

Growing up in a special needs household, Kate has been involved in the special needs community her entire life. Through her involvement she has also contributed to an organization known as Camp Rainbow Gold for cancer patients and siblings. Kate is a member of the National Honor Society, and now as a senior maintains a 3.9 GPA. She has spent the past 4 years working at her local mountain as a Ski Instructor, teaching and learning from the 3-6 year olds. In her free time, Kate enjoys traveling, skiing and cheering on her Capital High School Eagles.
