Miss New Hampshire USA 2016 is Jessica Strohm


Jessica Strohm from Manchester was crowned Miss New Hampshire USA 2016 on November 1, 2015. The 24-year-old and 5′6″ tall newly crowned queen succeeds Samantha Sue Poirier. As the winner of Miss New Hampshire title, she now has the official right to represent the state at Miss USA 2016 pageant next year where she hopes to be crowned by the reigning Miss USA Olivia Jordan. Valeria Podobniy will be representing the state at Miss Teen USA 2016.


Strohm, a 2008 graduate of Falmouth High School, graduated from Bristol Community College in 2010 and has worked in the food service industry and as a paralegal. In 2014 she won the Miss New England States title and the Miss Tri-State Massachusetts title and in 2013 she was Miss Rhode Islands USA 2013 first runner up.

The state has only placed four times.  The first placement was achieved by Miss New Hampshire 1962 Sandralee Kay in Miss USA 1962.  She finished as a semi-finalist.  Miss New Hampshire 1980 Eva Dyer finished 9th in Miss USA 1980.  Miss New Hampshire 1984 Diane Gadoury won Miss Congeniality in Miss USA 1984.  Miss New Hampshire 2000 Bridget Jane Vezina was 1st Runner-up to Miss Tennessee USA 2000 Lynette Cole in Miss USA 2000.  The last placement of New Hampshire in Miss USA was in the year 2004 when Vanessa Bissanti made it to the Top 15.  This year Samantha Sue Poirier could not crack the Top 15.
