Lorraine Marriot from Dar es Salaam won the Miss Universe Tanzania 2015 pageant held yesterday, Nov. 20th at King Solomon Hall,Dar es Salaam. The 21 years old and 1.76m tall beauty queen will represent Tanzania at the 64th edition of Miss Universe pageant
which will take place on 20th December 2015.
Her runner up was Carolyne
J. Bernard who won last year's national pageant but could
not represent the country at the international pageant due to an
accident that fractured her leg. This caused her runner, Nale Boniface to be sent as the national delegate. Bernard has been appointed to
represent Tanzania in Miss Earth 2015 on December 5, 2015 in Marx Halle
Vienna, Austria.
Lorraine is a pilot, businesswoman and professional model who was runner-up at Tanzania’s Top Model in 2013 and also represented the country at Miss Grand International 2014 where she finished as Top 20. Tanzania made a debut in this pageant in 2007 with Flaviana Matata who finished as Top 10 and remains the only placement bagged by the country since its participation.
