Lee Min-ji is Miss Universe Korea 2016

Lee Min-ji is Miss Universe Korea 2016. She was crowned Miss Korea 2015 mid this year at Universal Arts Center in Seoul which made her the official delegate for Miss Universe 2016 contest. The 1.72m titleholder was crowned by her predecessor Miss Korea 2014 Kim Seo-yeon is curently at Miss Universe 2015 in Las Vegas.

24-year-old Lee from Gyeonggi Province majored in Vocals at Sungshin Women's University. Her runners up were Kim Jung Jin, 20, of Sejong, and Kim Ye-rin, 19, of Jeju. Semi-finalists were Park Ah-reum, 24, of Daegu, So Ah-reum, 22, of Jeju, and Choi Myung-kyung, 21, of Daegu.

Korea's peak placement was over 25 years ago when Jang Yoon-jeong of 1988 finished as 1st runner up (the same year and highest placement at Miss World). Afterwards, Lee Ha-nui of 2007 also made a close attempt to the crown but ended as 3rd runner up. Another remarkable period of success was in 1959-1963 when Korea delegates made Top 15 consecutively.

Luísa Baptista wins Miss Angola 2016

Luísa Baptista won the Miss Angola 2016 pageant held on Saturday, December 12 at Belas Conference Centre in Luanda. She represented province of Cuando Cubango at the national event and bested 17 other contestants to bag the crown. She was crowned by Miss Universe 2011, Leila Lopes also from Angola. Luisa will be representing her country at Miss Universe 2016 pageant.

The runners-up were Vitória Mande and Raquel Gomes while Bruna Cardoso, Valentina Silva and Carolina Caluvi were respectively awarded Miss photogenic, Miss Congeniality and Best in Traditional Costume.

20 years old Luisa is1.85 meters tall and a student of Psychology at the Higher Polytechnic School of Menongue. Angola has only been placed thrice before its first win in 2011 courtesy of Leila Lopes.

Maria Morarou is crowned Star Cyprus 2015

22-year-old model Maria Morarou was crowned Star Cyprus 2015. Maria will be representing Cyprus at Miss Universe 2016. She succeeds Markélla Konstantínou.  The last time Cyprus participated in Miss Universe was in 2012 with Ioanna Yiannakou. Demetra Eleftheriou who finished as Top 10 in 2002 is the only placement the country has in Miss Universe pageant.

Maria Costas was crowned the Miss Cyprus 2015 and will represent at Miss World 2016. The runner ups were Athena Loizou who will participate at Miss Earth 2016 and Marina Kyriakou. Elena Charalambous took the Miss Young title.

Andrea Tovar Velasquez wins Senorita Colombia 2015

Miss Choco, Andrea Tovar Velasquez is Senorita Colombia 2015. She defeated 22 other contestants to win the title at the end of a magnificent finale held last night at Auditorio Getsemani-Centro de Convenciones Julio César Turbay Ayala, Cartagena. The 22-year-old and 1.79m tall queen will represent Colombia in Miss Universe 2016 contest.

Kristhielee Caride wins Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2016

Kristhielee Caride was crowned the winner of Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2016 at the end of the national pageant last night. She represented the province of Isabela and bested 44 other contestants to claim the title. She will now represent her Puerto Rico at Miss Universe 2016 contest.

Lauriane Sallin won Miss Switzerland 2016

Lauriane Sallin won Miss Schweiz 2016 (Miss Switzerland 2016) on Saturday, November 7 at the Basel’s Musical Theater on November 7, 2015 in Basel, northern Switzerland. As Miss Schweiz 2016, Sallin will represent Switzerland at Miss Universe 2016 pageant. Her runners-up are Chiara Kummer and Monika Buser.

Bojana Bojanic is Miss Universe Serbia 2016. She finished 1RU to Katarina Sulkic who won Miss Serbia 2015 at the national pageant conducted on Monday, October 12. She is 20 years old and represented South Bačka district at the national pageant. She succeeds Daša Radosavljević of last year who will contest in the Miss Universe 2015 pageant. Bojana will represent Serbia at Miss Universe 2016.

Htet Htet Htun was crowned Miss Universe Myanmar 2016 (Result)

Htet Htet Htun was crowned Miss Universe Myanmar 2016 at the end of the beauty pageant held on October 3, 2015 in Gandamar Grand Ballroom in the National Capital Yangon. Two winners were appointed : May Barani Thaw will compete at Miss Universe 2015 while Htet Htet Htun will goes to Miss Universe 2016. As Miss Myanmar 2016, she bagged the prize sum of 10,000,000 kyats.

Mariam Habach Santucci was crowned Miss Venezuela 2015. The 19-year-old beauty queen won the 63rd edition of Miss Venezuela - Miss Venezuela 2015 which took place yesterday, October 8, 2015 at the Estudio 1 of Venevision in Caracas, Venezuela. She stands 1.80m tall and battled out 24 other contestants to be crowned with the new crown for Miss Venezuela Universo designed by George Wittels.

As the winner of Miss Venezuela 2015, she will represent Venezuela in Miss Universe 2016.
Mariam was Miss Lara at the national pageant. She is a dental student at the José Antonio Páez University. She has been dreaming of becoming Miss Venezuela since she was little girl. She was crowned by her predecessor Miss Venezuela Universe 2014 Mariana Jimenez will compete at the next edition of the international pageant on December 20, 2015 in Las Vegas where she hopes to be crowned by the reigning Miss Universe Paulina Vega from Colombia.

Also at the national event, Miss Trujillo Jessica Maria Duarte was crowned Miss Venezuela Internacional and will compete in Miss International 2016. Meanwhile, heavy favorite Miss Amazonas Andrea Carolina Rosales settled for the Miss Venezuela Tierra (Earth) title, she will be competing in Miss Earth 2015 in Austria. Miss Earth 2013 Alyz Henrich and Miss International 1985 Nina Sicilia were among the finals night judges.
