Iris Mittenaere is crowned Miss France 2016

22-year-old Iris Mittenaere who represented Nord Pas de Calais was crowned winner of Miss France 2016. She defeated 30 other contestants at 86th edition of Miss France which took place at Zénith Arena de Lille on 19th December 2015. She was crowned by the outgoing Miss France 2015- Camille Cerf who is also from her region. Iris will now represent France at Miss World 2016 and Miss Universe 2016. Iris is a fifth year student of Dentistry at University of Lile and enjoys dancing, gymnastics, theater and riding.




France was the first country to win Both Miss World and Miss Universe in the Same year. Denise Perrier bagged the Miss World 1953 crown where as her compatriot Christiane Martel was crowned as Miss Universe 1953. France has entered the top 5 of Miss Universe only once. France has three first runner-up crowns at Miss World,Claudine Auger was crowned the first princess at Miss World 1958,Véronique Caloc was awarded the same title at Miss World 1998 and Marine Lorphelin bagged the first runner-up (first princess) crown at 2013 edition of Miss World.
