Thilini Amarasooriya is Miss World Sri Lanka

Thilini Amarasooriya was crowned Miss World Sri Lanka 2015 after a glittering finale held at Hilton-Colombo on October 5. Thilini will represent Sri lanka in the Miss World 2015 pageant with the finals slated to be held on 19 December at the Crown of Beauty Theatre in Sanya, China. Her 1st runner-up was Jayathi De Silva and  2nd runner-up  went to Ayesha Fernando.

The 20-year-old beauty who hails from Colombo is a graduate of the National Institute of Business Management and worked as a model prior to her participation at the nationals. Thilini succeeds Miss World Sri Lanka 2014 Chulakshi Ranathunga.

For Thilini Amarasuriya Miss Sri Lanka should be “someone who understands what she stands for.” For her Miss Sri Lanka is an ambassador for the country so she must be able to intelligently converse with people and know what she’s doing.
With her title she would focus on the children, especially the poor. She would educate them about proper hygiene.

Also at the special award session, Thilini bagged 3 awards of Facia Radiant Skin award, Sure Slim Body Beautiful title and Gold Jojoba Face of the Year title. Other award winners were Shamali Silshani - Newman 
Denta Most Beautiful Smile award and Hilton Colombo Miss Sports and Fitness title. Rashmi Senadeera - Singer Mega Miss Talent award and Jetwing Best Sri Lankan Dance title. Senuri Dissanayake - Arpico Miss Congeniality special award. Sanju Kaveesha - Kamsins Most Beautiful in Eastern Wear title. Jayathi De Silva - NSBSthree Miss Personality title.

Miss Sri-lanka World 2015 winners

Sri Lanka made its debut in Miss World pageant in 1953 with Manel Illangakoon who finished 3rd runner-up and the last semi finalist placement till date was in 1978, courtesy of Manohori Vanigasooriya.
