Stormy Keffeler is crowned Miss Washington USA 2016

Stormy Keffeler was crowned Miss Washington USA 2016 at the state  pageant finals this past Sunday at the Highline Performing Arts Center in Burien. She is 23 years old from Redmond and stands 5'10" tall. She defeated 33 other contestants to succeed Miss Washington USA 2015 Kenzi Novell and will now prepare to compete at Miss USA 2016 Pageant. Claire Wright was crowned Miss Washington Teen USA 2016 at the same event.

She is a professional football player for the Seattle Mist and currently studying Journalism. She hopes to be a sideline commentator in the ESPN games someday. In the meantime she enjoys working as a promotional assistant at Entercom Seattle and volunteering for several charity organizations including Volunteers of America. She believes that “With good work ethic and determination it is impossible to be ignored."

“Well, I am very passionate about sports… I have reaped the benefits of the leadership, discipline and determination and I want to spread that into the youth because that is something that can create a better future for all of us,” said Keffeler when she was asked about what difference she could make

Washington had won the Miss USA pageant once in 1968 with Dorothy Anstett who later finished as 4RU at the Miss Universe Pageant. Tracey Goddard of 1979 also made a close to the Miss USA title when she finished as 1RU. The state has not record Top 5 finalist in recent  years but has been placed Top 10, 12 and 15 in multiple times.
