Madison McKeown is Miss South Dakota USA 2016

Madison McKeown was crowned Miss South Dakota USA 2016 on October 4, 2015. She is 20 years old from Sioux Falls and stands 5'8" tall. She was formerly Miss South Dakota Teen USA 2014 and finished 1RU at the 2013 pageant. She succeeds Lexy Schenk of last year. As the newly crowned queen, she will be representing her state at the Miss USA  2016 pageant where she hopes to succeed Miss USA 2015 Olivia Jordan.

Crowning Moment

Madison currently attends Kansas State University where she majors in Public Relations and Fashion with a minor in Leadership Studies. She hopes to further to Masters Degree at Lindenwood University and would like to continue to grow and expand her business while pursuing her modeling career. She enjoys Pilates, hot yoga, cliff jumping, modeling, and pageant coaching younger girls. She is an advocate for volunteering not only in her community but globally. She has taken fourteen years of dance instruction.

South Dakota is one of the least successful states at Miss USA pageant since over 50 years of participation. It had barely gotten to the semifinalist twice in past decades by Helen Youngquist (1954) and Debra Ann Brickley (1974). Even the only special award of Miss Congeniality it had was in 1970's by  Dorothy Westphal. Do you think Madison McKeown could break the record with at least a finalist placement?
