23-year-old Debbie Collins is Miss Universe Nigeria 2015. She finished as first runner up at the end of the Most Beautiful Girl of Nigeria 2015 pageant won by Unoaku Anyadike. The 5'8" tall beauty will now represent nIgeria at Miss Universe 2015 finals to be held in
Las Vegas, Nevada in the United States of America on 20th December,
2015.
Debbie who represented Ebonyi state in the pageant defeated 35 other contestants to clinch to the title. She succeeds Queen Celestine who won the special award of Miss Congeniality at Miss Universe 2014 pageant.
Nigeria has been participating in Miss Universe since 1987. There has been only one placement for the country and that was achieved by Miss Universe Nigeria 2001 Agbani Darego who finished 7th overall. Later she won Miss World 2001 title becoming the first black African beauty to achieve the feat of winning Miss World. Apart from Queen, Toyin Raji also won Miss Congeniality. She did that in year 1995. Sophie Gemal, Miss Universe Nigeria 2011, was Top 10 in Best in National Costume round.
