UPDATE: Namibia makes History at Miss World 2015 as Sports Winner

The Miss World 2015 Sports Challenge finale took place yesterday at Sanya University Sports Track. Miss Namibia, Steffi Van Wyk beat other 23 finalists to win the Sports competition. Her win made history in the Miss World pageant as this is the first time a single delegate will win all the qualifying events - individual shuttle run, long jump, and 100m sprint. 

Placing first to Namibia was Miss Seychelles-Linne Freminot, second placement went to Miss Guam-Aria Perez Theisen while Kazakhstan-Regina Vandysheva and Miss Samoa- Alofa Latafale Auva’a placed 3rd and 4th respectively.

 “I am so proud to have won this, not just for me, but for my country. I can’t thank all the other contestants enough for the support they have given to me. This award is for all of us because the biggest accomplishment of today was how well we worked as a team!”  Miss Namibia said after being announced the winner.

UPDATE: Miss World 2015 Sports Competition Finalist

Miss World 2015 Sports Competition Finale shall be held later today at Sanya University Sports Track. In preparation for this event, the contestants were divided into 4 teams. A straight forward challenge of physicality; strength and stamina; a gruelling bleep test was conducted and 6 finalists were chosen in each team making 24 finalists to compete at the sports finale tomorrow which include individual and team shuttle runs, long jump, 100 meter sprint, 400 meter relay, tug of war and more! 

The finalists are as follows:

Yellow Team:

Czech Republic, Bermuda, Curacao, Australia, Denmark, Botswana

Reserves: Argentina, Aruba

Blue Team:  

Guam, Fiji, Kazakhstan, France, Dominican Republic, Ethiopia 

                 Reserves: Finland, Jamaica

Orange Team: 

New Zealand, Serbia, Norway, Samoa, Kenya, Nicaragua

Reserves: Romania, Lesotho

Red Team:

Namibia, Spain, Turkey, Seychelles, South Africa, Scotland

Reserves: USA, Ukraine

UPDATE: Panama wins Miss Earth 2015 Sports Competiton

Miss Earth 2015 Sports competition was held where all the contestants had to prove their physical strength and mental determination through series of physical tasks. All the contestants went through these tasks and finally their performances were evaluated to arrive at the result of the contest. At the end, 3 lucky ladies took home the medals. These 3 girls were:

Gold: Panama, Carmen Jaramillo

Silver: Portugal, Berth Elouga

Bronze: South Africa, Carla Viktor

Miss Earth is celebrating the Crystal Year this year in Vienna, Austria. The finale shall be held on 5th December where all the 89 contestants shall competing each other to grab the coveted title of Miss Earth 2015. The winner shall be crowned by the out going queen Jamie Herrel.
