Who is Roselyn Sanchez?
Roselyn Sanchez is a Puerto Rican singer-songwriter, model, actress,
producer and writer. She first wowed audiences in the blockbuster hit
“Rush Hour 2, ” for which she received an ALMA Award nomination for Best
Supporting Actress. Also, she has appeared in films “The Game Plan,”
“Yellow,” “Act of Valor,” “Boat Trip,” “Basic,” “Chasing
Papi,” “Nightstalker,” “Underclassman” and Edison.” On television, Sanchez was seen as “Elena Delgado” on the hit series
“Without A Trace” from 2005 to 2009, for which she won her first ALMA
award in 2008. Sanchez currently stars as “Carmen Luna” in the cable
drama “Devious Maids.”
In 2003, she released her debut CD, entitled “Borinqueńa.” She was
nominated for a Latin Grammy for “Best Music Video” for the single “Amor
Amor,” which she also performed at the 2004 Latin Grammy ceremony.
Recently, she released a single with Flo Rida, entitled “Pick Up Your
Game.”
Last year, she was a co-host at the 2014 Latin Billboard Music Awards, as well as co-host at this year’s 2015 Latin Grammys.
Sanchez also supports different organizations such as PETA,
participating in its highly successful “I’d Rather Go Naked Then Wear
Fur” campaign. She is the first Hispanic ambassador for Operation Smile.
Other endeavors include her philanthropic work in Puerto Rico
for PETSOS, a non-profit to end the suffering of displaced dogs and
cats. Last year, Sanchez produced the 4th edition of her charity
Triathlon, “Triathlon For A Smile,” that benefitted the San Jorge
Children’s Foundation and Fundacion Caritas Alegres for pediatric
cancer.
Sanchez resides in Studio City, CA, with her husband American actor Eric Winter and their daughter, Sebella.
After a few days of sole ownership of the Miss Universe Organization by Donald Trump, he sells off his full stakes to the WME/IMG talent agency who has been bidding for the ownership for a while now since NBC Universal cut ties with Trump and refuse to air the Miss USA 2015 due to the racist comments made by Donald at his presidential announcement about Mexicans.

sports, events, media and fashion. Operating in more than 25 countries,
the company specializes in talent representation and management; brand
strategy, activation and licensing; media production and distribution;
and event management.
“IMG had already worked with Miss Universe on licensing
deals in the past. The pageants are a natural fit with IMG’s focus on
owning event franchises that yield big media rights and sponsorship
deals. The company earlier this year bought the Professional Bull Riders
sports league for the same strategic rationale,” Varietyadded.
In a statement, a WME/IMG executive conveyed enthusiasm about its new acquisition.
“Having worked closely with The Miss Universe
Organization in the past, we understand the incredible potential of the
events and the star-quality of the participants. The global reach of The
Miss Universe Organization and the content opportunities presented by
the pageants make this a strong, strategic addition to our portfolio.”
Trump also issued a statement about the 100 percent sale of the Miss Universe Organization.
“I have truly enjoyed owning the Miss Universe, Miss USA,
and Miss Teen USA pageants. When I purchased the pageants many years
ago, they were in serious trouble. It has been a great honor making them
so successful and I have really enjoyed watching the pageants grow
throughout the USA and worldwide. The pageants are now in the hands of a
great company that will shepherd them to even greater levels of
success.”
According to Forbes, offloading the pageant venture may have been a good deal for all parties concerned, provided the new owner finds a TV outlet.
“It’s easy to imagine that NBC let the pageant go for a
reasonable price: The Miss Universe and Miss USA telecasts typically
perform reasonably well,
but they’ve never been the bread and butter for the network. Miss USA
ratings have been on a downward trend since 2005. Though it will likely
be easier without Trump attached, WME/IMG now carries the daunting
challenge of finding a broadcaster for the pageants, which could prove
particularly difficult given the recent controversy surrounding them.”
Donald Trump’s financial disclosure required of a
presidential candidate “indicated that the joint venture was worth
between 45 million and $25 million. [The] Miss Universe Organization
generated $3.4 million in income for Trump in 2014,” CNN Moneyexplained.
Miss Universe is an annual international pageant and among the mostly
recognized beauty pageant. It is jointly owned by Donald Trump and NBC Universal but NBC
cut ties with the organization after the racist remark made by Donald Trump
about Mexicans at his presidential announcement.
News from Page Six has it that Trump wants to sell his 49% share of the Miss Universe. Ari

among other bidders happened to be the highest bidders for the shares but deal
yet to be done. Ari Emmanuel is a co-owner of WME/IMG, an entertainment and
media agency which already had a licensing relationship with Miss Universe, expanded
in 2011 to include a branded lifestyle merchandising program.

Amidst all these, some pageant followers opine that the Miss Universe
deserves a change of ownership as to stay away from more scandals and secure its viability. While others
are of the opinion that Donald should continue the ownership as his ways and
actions make the pageant stays in news and attract more recognition around the
world. But I think the atmosphere of its recognition matters all the same.
However, an insider said Miss Universe would be in better hands if Emanuel
and WME/IMG succeeds in purchasing the Donald stakes as they are capable of
modernizing the pageant and turn it into a bigger franchise. It could easily
live within IMG, which produces
New York Fashion Week and has successful fashion and modeling divisions.”
Reps for WME/IMG and Trump declined to comment Tuesday night.

Though, the Miss Universe Organization is yet to officially declare the host country for the event. It was heard that Colombia and China were bidding to host the event of which Colombia back out from the bid after the Donald Trump Controversy about the Mexicans. Considering the fact that the last edition was held in January 2015, we doubt the probability of the 2015 edition to hold his year.
