37 contestants to compete in the MBGN 2015 in Nigeria

The Pageant dates back to 1983 when it was called Miss Universe Nigeria but in 1986 it was rebranded and renamed the Most Beautiful girl in Nigeria (MBGN) pageant.
The Most Beautiful girl in Nigeria pageant, created by Silverbird Productions, has over the years maintained it distinctive style and refined taste.
After more than two decades in existence, it is the most recognised and consistent beauty pageant in Nigeria.
MBGN pageant has produced winners that have excelled in all walks of life, both in Nigeria and internationally.
The first winner, Lynda Chuba, was also crowned Miss Africa, and she went on to become Honourable Lynda Chuba Ikpeazu, a member of Nigeria’s National Assembly.
In 2001, MBGN made history when it produced the first ever Miss World of the black race: Agbani Darego. She also placed in the semi-finals of the 2001 Miss Universe Competition that year.
In 2005, there was another ground-breaking moment when the MBGN 2005 Omowunmi Akinnifesi went on to win the Miss Tourism International title while representing Nigeria in the Ukraine. She subsequently became an Environmental Ambassador for the Lagos State Government in Nigeria.
In the past, one winner was chosen every year to represent Nigeria in all International Pageants. However, in 2007 the show was revamped to produce five winners who go on to represent Nigeria in several international pageants around the world. - See more at: http://www.silverbirdmbgn.com/about#sthash.KPWRJSav.dpuf
37 beauties have been selected across Nigeria at the conclusion of the final screening held yesterday, 25th August in the silverbird Galleria in Victoria Island, Lagos State. They are to represent the 36 States and Federal Capital in the forthcoming MBGN (Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria) pageant on 24th of October 2015 at the host venue - Calabar International Conference Center, Calabar, Cross-River State.

These ladies will now proceed on a two week long camp session where there will get extensive training and grooming in choreography, cat-walking and comportment to prepare them for the main event in October.

The Pageant has been in existence as far back as 1983 when it was formally referred to as Miss Universe Nigeria but in 1986, it was renamed the Most Beautiful girl in Nigeria (MBGN) pageant.  Silverbird productions created this pageant and will also be managing and producing The Miss Africa pageant; an initiative of the Cross River Government which holds in December 2015.

MBGN made a remarkable international history when its winner Agbani Darego won the Miss World title in 2001 making her the first ever black lady to win the title. Also in 2005, MBGN  Omowunmi Akinnifesi  won the Miss Tourism International title in Ukraine.
