Who is Roselyn Sanchez?

Roselyn Sanchez is a Puerto Rican singer-songwriter, model, actress, producer and writer. She first wowed audiences in the blockbuster hit “Rush Hour 2, ” for which she received an ALMA Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Also, she has appeared in films “The Game Plan,” “Yellow,” “Act of Valor,” “Boat Trip,” “Basic,” “Chasing Papi,” “Nightstalker,” “Underclassman” and Edison.”
On television, Sanchez was seen as “Elena Delgado” on the hit series “Without A Trace” from 2005 to 2009, for which she won her first ALMA award in 2008. Sanchez currently stars as “Carmen Luna” in the cable drama “Devious Maids.”

In 2003, she released her debut CD, entitled “Borinqueńa.” She was nominated for a Latin Grammy for “Best Music Video” for the single “Amor Amor,” which she also performed at the 2004 Latin Grammy ceremony. Recently, she released a single with Flo Rida, entitled “Pick Up Your Game.”
Last year, she was a co-host at the 2014 Latin Billboard Music Awards, as well as co-host at this year’s 2015 Latin Grammys.

Sanchez also supports different organizations such as PETA, participating in its highly successful “I’d Rather Go Naked Then Wear Fur” campaign. She is the first Hispanic ambassador for Operation Smile. Other endeavors include her philanthropic work in Puerto Rico for PETSOS, a non-profit to end the suffering of displaced dogs and cats. Last year, Sanchez produced the 4th edition of her charity Triathlon, “Triathlon For A Smile,” that benefitted the San Jorge Children’s Foundation and Fundacion Caritas Alegres for pediatric cancer.

Sanchez resides in Studio City, CA, with her husband American actor Eric Winter and their daughter, Sebella.

NEWS: Jennifer Hudson Wants to Return to American Idol For Final Season

Jennifer Hudson may not have won American Idol, but she is arguably one of the most successful contestants to ever appear on the show.

She'd love to make an appearance during Idol's upcoming final season.
"I hope to return!" she told me at the opening of her Broadway debut, The Color Purple, adding, "I hope to be a part of the Idol finale, the final show. I'm kind of sad to see it go because it's been a part of our homes. Each of us in America, you know what I mean? So it's going to be sad to see it go but I hope to be a part of the farewell."
Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe was among the bold-faced names that attended The Color Purple opening.

"Some of the Idol family was in the audience tonight," JHud said. "Nigel was there. I was like, Oh my God, there's so many people that helped build my career sitting in this audience tonight, which was kind of creepy and overwhelming but I was like, 'Ahh—I don't want to look at the audience.'"
Ryan Seacrest revealed to E! News last month that all of the show's former judges, including Paula Abdul, Randy Jackson and event Simon Cowell will return at some point during the Fox series' last hurrah. "We will have the former judges back," he said. "The plan is to have all of them back. They've all considered it and I think are enthusiastic about coming back and saluting the show."

Carrie Underwood also told me last month that she's hoping to make an appearance. "I'm sure I will at some point," she said. "I definitely would like to be there for the finale. There's always a lot to work out. I'll be in the middle of touring, so we'll see."

NEWS: An Ex Beauty Queen Charged With Alaskan Grizzly Murder

A former beauty queen hailed for busting through stereotypes with her military service and knack for sharpshooting has been charged with illegally killing an Alaskan grizzly bear, then trying to cover it up.

Theresa Vail, 25 -- best known for her successful bid for the Miss Kansas crown and a new hunting show on the Outdoor Channel called "Limitless with Theresa Vail" -- allegedly killed a two grizzlies in May, but only had a tag to kill one, according to an Alaskan Wildlife Troopers' press release. Authorities charge that after the kills, Vail's two guides helped her obtain a tag for the second animal, and then backdated it to make it look like a legal kill.

According to the release, the beauty queen faces misdemeanor charges of killing a bear without a tag and unsworn falsification. Also charged are her guide, Michael Wade Renfro, 46, and assistant guide Joseph Andrew Miller, 45, who allegedly helped her obtain the second tag and failed to report her for the kill.

A representative for the Outdoor Channel told the New York Daily News that the "Limitless" production team alerted authorities to the illegal kill on June 3, and maintained that the bears never made it into an episode.
Renfro's attorney, Myron Angstman, told The Huffington Post that the second kill was an accident. He said that Vail shot one bear, which she had a tag for, then looked away while she was reloading. When she brought her gun back up, she had another bear in her sights, and took the shot, he said. Both bears were killed and skinned, and that's when Angstman says the guide showed a lapse in judgement by attempting to cover up the crime and failing to report it.

"I'm positive that [Renfro's] thoughts were to protect the hunter because of her fledgling career, and he put his own career at risk to do so," Angstman said. "He stood to gain nothing by tagging the second bear, and stood to lose nothing by turning [Vail] in, which he has done several times before. I suppose it's all because of her TV show."

All three suspects are scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 16. 

According to the show's website, Vail is former Miss Kansas, a member of the Army National Guard, a brand ambassador for Bass Pro Shops and a "red-blooded, all-American" marksman with both bows and rifles. She did not respond to a request for comment.

NEWS: Selena Gomez & Demi Lovato at 2015 Billboard Women in Music Event

Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato both turned heads on Friday at the 2015 Billboard Women in Music event where they were both honored.
The event took place at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City. Gomez, 23, wore a cleavage-baring sparkling, embroidered and feathered asymmetrical Rodarte fall 2015 ready-to-wear flapper mini dress, paired with black stockings and black and silver peep toe platform pump.

Lovato, 23, lived up to the name of her new album, Confident, and sported a black tux pantsuit, forgoing the use of a top and opting to bare even more cleavage than her fellow pop star and former Disney Channel actress. Both she and Gomez wore silver chokers.

Gomez later changed into a strapless Monse spring/summer 2016 ready-to-wear gown, made up of a silver beaded bodice and ivory ruffled skirt. (pictured below) 

During the show, Gomez performed her new single "Same Old Love," while Lovato sang hers, "Stone Cold." Paul Rudd, 46, presented Gomez with the award for Chart-Topper. The singer posted a cute selfie of the two on her Instagram page.
Gomez and Rudd worked together on the drama film The Revised Fundamentals of Caregiving, which is set for release on Jan. 31.

"Thank you for supporting me not just with this record but all the time," Gomez, who two months ago released her new album Revival, said in her speech, according to Billboard. "This album in particular was such a transition for me. I have so much more to prove."

Fifth Harmony was on hand to present Lovato with the inaugural "Rulebreaker" award.
"It's not intentional and that's what's awesome—people see it," Billboard quoted Lovato as saying. "I'm excited to show people you can be yourself and people will appreciate it."
Other honorees included the members of Fifth Harmony themselves, who won Group of the Year, as well as Lady Gaga, 29, who took home the top honor—for Woman of the Year.

Queen Latifah Is Starring in Lee Daniels' New Girl Group Series After Wowing Audiences in The Wiz

According to E!News, The queen of The Wiz just scored a new gig!

As Lee Daniels continues to work on his second show about the music business for Fox, E! News has learned the identity of one of its biggest stars.
Queen Latifah has signed up to anchor the cast as the role of Carlotta, an owner of an Atlanta beauty salon who has a beautiful voice.
Her character will also serve as a surrogate mother to three girls who have musical dreams of their own. Together, the trio will chase their dreams of making it big in the Atlanta music scene.
The big casting news comes just days after Queen Latifah wowed audiences with her role as The Wiz in NBC's live musical appropriately titled The Wiz.

Her performance earned rave reviews on social media from famous faces including Octavia Spencer, Shonda Rhimes and Oprah Winfrey.
As for Queen Latifah's upcoming show with Daniels, Fox announced this past summer that the project titled Star will showcase the allure and heartache of the cut-throat music industry, while also exploring cultural themes from a new perspective.
So, could Star end up being an Empire spinoff? Not so fast!
"The possibility of a crossover at some point exists but it's definitely not what we're planning right now," Fox chairman and CEO Dana Walden told reporters at the 2015 Television Critics Association summer press tour. She later called Star "a wholly contained original series."
"It's a modern day music business in Atlanta and Empire is modern day music business in New York," she continued. "It's not inconceivable that the two worlds could cross. But that's definitely not Lee's intention as we go into it."

As its no more news that  WME | IMG acquired MUO from Donald Trump last month, expanding the company’s portfolio of global media events and media properties across entertainment and live events.
In light of the change of ownership, WME/IMG has partnered with FOX to broadcast the event which also gives FOX right to broadcast the sister-pageant Miss USA. Prior to the acquisition, the pageant was aired by NBC which recorded over 7.5 million viewers at last edition.

“Miss Universe is a unique, global media property and this partnership with Fox marks a new era for The Miss Universe Organization as a whole,” said Michael Antinoro, SVP of Original Content, IMG. “As the broadcast leader in innovative and groundbreaking live events, Fox is the perfect partner as we look to implement new and exciting changes to this show and the franchise.”

According to Variety, the “64th Annual Miss Universe Pageant” will air on Sunday, Dec. 20 from Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. The three-hour telecast will air live from 7 to 10 p.m. ET and tape-delayed in the West.

Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert Would Hook up for the First Time Since Divorce

Luckily, these two seem to be amicable exes.
The Country Music Association announced on Oct. 19, 2015 that Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Sam Hunt, and Blake Shelton will all be performing at the upcoming CMA Awards, joining previously announced performers including Kelsea Ballerini, Miranda Lambert, Maddie & Tae, Kacey Musgraves, Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood.

The 49th Annual CMA Awards air live on Nov. 4 from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville at 8 p.m. ET on the ABC Television Network will also mark Shelton and Lambert's first joint public appearance since the two announced their divorce after four years of marriage in late July. Blake is nominated for two CMA Awards, including Male Vocalist of the Year, while Miranda is nominated for four, including Entertainer of the Year.

"This is not the future we envisioned and it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately," the duo said in a statement at the time. Since the split, the 39-year-old Voice coach and the 31-year-old "Little Red Wagon" beauty seem to be moving on with their lives.
"I'm in a good place," he said in an interview on CMT Hot 20 Countdown earlier this month. "I wasn't but I am now. It's amazing how quickly life can turn around for you. I've had some pretty cool things in recent times that've happened and I'm loving it."

Likewise, a source told E! News in September that Lambert is enjoying the single life and using her music as therapy.
The insider revealed that the Grammy-winner plans to take some time before jumping into a new relationship, but she's hopeful she will find love again, adding that Miranda simply wants the best for Blake.
Earlier today, Shelton tweeted, "Sometimes life is completely unfair and makes absolutely no sense... Thank God," although he failed to elaborate.

Chris Rock to Host the 2016 Academy Awards?

The 2016 Academy Awards which is scheduled to be held on Feb. 28,2016 and is being produced by Reginald Hudlin and David Hill.

According to Variety, Chris Rock is currently in talks to host Hollywood's biggest night of the year and an announcement is expected to be made shortly. Rock is no stranger to Hollywood’s biggest event of the year, having previously hosted the Oscars in 2005. The veteran comedian has also worked with new Oscar co-producer Reginald Hudlin, who directed the pilot of Rock’s popular but now defunct TV series “Everybody Hates Chris.”

While the comedian's rep has yet to comment on the growing speculation, The Hollywood Reporter is also reporting that Rock is in discussions with producers.
At this time, the Academy spokesperson is not commenting on the hosting rumors.

Should the news be true, this wouldn't be the first time that Rock has worked with Hudlin as the two previously joined forces on the 2005 sitcom Everybody Hates Chris.
Of course, this wouldn't be the first time that Rock helmed the Academy Awards either.
The actor hosted the prestigious awards show back in 2005 and sparked plenty of controversy after poked fun at several actors' talents, including Tobey Maguire, Colin Farrell and Jude Law—which, you may recall, caused Sean Penn to rush to Law's defense later on in the evening.

Neil Patrick Harris, who hosted the 2015 Oscars, opened up about the possibility of taking on the task once again in an interview with Huffington Post just months after the show aired.
"I don't know that my family nor my soul could take it," he explained. "It's a beast."
He added, "It was fun to check off the list, but for the amount of time spent and the understandable opinionated response, I don't know that it's a delightful balance to do every year or even again."
Hmm, well with that said, it's only a matter of time before we see just who takes the stage as the evening's host!

Taylor Kinney and Lady Gaga Reflects on Their Relationship

Taylor Kinney and Lady Gaga might be engaged now, but when they first met it was anything but love. The Chicago Fire star appeared on Bravo's Watch What Happens Live Wednesday and revealed that he and Mother Monster - Lady Gaga had a rough start when they first worked together on her music video for "Yoü and I."
"I remember I went up, and we're rolling, and I kissed her and she didn't expect it," Kinney explained. "They cut, and she slapped me. And then it was just awkward. And then the next take, I just did it again and then she didn't slap me. She didn't slap me then."
"We had a good time. I think there was chemistry," he continued. "I remember it was a late shoot. We were shooting until 4 or 5 in the morning or something like that. We exchanged information. A few weeks went by and we kept in touch, and then that's that."

And now they're getting married! Although he proposed on Valentine's Day earlier this year, Kinney and the "Bad Romance" singer haven't set a date for the big day yet, telling host Andy Cohen that the reason for that it is because of their busy schedules.
"We've been engaged for less than a year," he said. "So, we've been talking about whether it's New York, Los Angeles, destination place so we don't have an exact date yet."

Lady Gaga announced her exciting engagement news two days after the romantic holiday, taking to Instagram to post a perfect photo of her gorgeous heart-shaped rock. "He gave me his heart on Valentine's Day, and I said YES!" she wrote alongside the black-and-white image.
The 29-year-old pop star and her 34-year-old fiancé kept their relationship very private since the beginning, making very few public appearances. But during this year's Oscars weekend, she couldn't help but gush about getting married.
"We're just so excited to be engaged," Gaga told E! News.

Though their experience on "Yoü and I" had its awkward moments, Kinney would jump at the chance to work with his other half again. "I would love doing something with her," he told E! News this week. "I met working with her. I don't know that we've done anything work-wise since. I wouldn't put that out of the realm of possibilities."

Oprah Winfrey Gives Details About OWN's Belief

Opray Winfrey, the TV titan turned out for the series premiere screening in New York City Wednesday night, where she opened up about OWN's seven-night documentary series that examines the nature of faith and belief in cultures around the world.

"If you can't stick to the belief when things are on shaky ground, then it's not a belief. It's just an idea. So, a true belief is that for which you are rooted and know to be true for yourself," Winfrey told E! News on the red carpet. "I will tell you that there is nobody who gets to be a human being who isn't going to have a dark hour. There's nobody who gets to walk the human path who is not going to have, at some point in your life, something that looks like failure. Belief lets you know that because it looks like failure, it is just a detour. It's not the end of the road, it's just a detour saying, 'Move in another direction.'"

Winfrey, who has been spiritual for as long as she can remember, said she realized the importance of belief "somewhere in my 20s" when she was building The Oprah Winfrey Show. "Every day you got a problem: things are falling apart, things don't work, this doesn't work. Soon you figure out everything passes. Good things pass. Bad things pass. When you really get it, that the whole human condition is about duality, darkness and light, things look like they fail, look like it's not gonna work, but it always changes," she said. "That's what this planet is about."

 Oprah Winfrey believes in the power of Belief

The first installment of Belief premieres Sunday at 8 p.m. on OWN and tells the stories of a 19-year-old evangelical Christian girl who tries to reconnect with her in Alabama; a 30-year-old woman who makes a pilgrimage to the Kumbh Mela bathing ritual along the Ganges River in India; a 13-year-old boy who prepares for his Bar Mitzvah in a tiny Jewish community in Budapest; and a dying Aboriginal elder who must pass down ancient traditions to his 11-year-old grandson.

Winfrey was pitched an idea for series in early 2012, and it was in line with one she had already envisioned. "I was going through a challenging time with launching and building a network. Whenever you are challenged, most people go out—I go in. Whenever you are challenged, you need to go back and ask yourself, 'What is it you really believe? What do you really want? What is it you're here to do?'" she said. "Telling these kinds of stories was what I created a network to do. So, I thought, 'Regardless of what else I have to do, whatever demands are on my time, whatever else is going on, this is what I want to do. This is the kind of stories I want to tell.'"

The first installment, "The Seekers," airs Sunday, Oct. 18.
New installments of Belief air nightly at 8 p.m. through Oct. 24 on OWN.
