Gina Mellish was crowned Miss New Jersey Teen USA 2016 on October 18, 2015. She is 16 years old beauty queen from Oceanport and stands 5'9" tall. She was crowned by the outgoing queen, Miss New Jersey Teen USA 2015 Jacqueline Giancola who was unplaced at Miss Teen USA 2015. Gina now has the official right to represent her state at the 2016 Miss Teen USA Pageant where the reigning Miss Teen USA Katherine Haik from Louisiana will crown her successor at the end of the event.

Gina contested at last year pageant and finished 3RU at the Miss NJ Teen USA 2016.
“Words can not describe how truly grateful I am for this opportunity. I have dreamed about this for years and hard work truly does pay off!” said Gina after her crowning as Miss New Jersey Teen USA.
At the same event, Jessielyn Palumbo was crowned Miss New Jersey USA 2016.

The highest placement of New Jersey at the Teen's level was in 2007 when Alyssa Campanella finished as 1RU and later won Miss USA 2011 as a representative of California. Jacklyn Pezzotta and Valentina Sanchez both finished as 4RU in 2003 and 2014 respectively. Also recorded several semifinalists and finalists.
