Wang Hyun is Miss World Korea 2015

Wang Hyun, former Miss Korea USA was crowned Miss World Korea 2015 in the glittering finale held in Gangwon, South Korea. The 20 year old queen will be representing Korea at Miss World 2016 pageant. She succeeds Jung Eun-ju of last year who is currently participating in Miss World 2015 pageant.

Speaking after her crowning, she said "I’m thankful for this huge title and will do my best to spread the beauty of Korea from now on".
Wang was stunned at her win as she didnt expect it and being a celebrity was not her plan rather plans to focus on her studies. But her father encouraged her to join the pagenat and took care of her schedule for her. “My current dream or goal is not to become a celebrity. My major is art, so I’d like to find work doing art and design,” she said.

Korea has never won the Miss world pageant, however has been placed several times in the finalist. The highest placement was in 1988 when Choi Yeon-hee finished 1st runner up. The country also has record of special awards.

Pierina Wong Mori is crowned Miss World Peru 2016

23-year-old Pierina Wong Mori  won Miss World Peru 2016 pageant held at the Main Square of Trujillo. Pierina will represent her country at Miss World 2016 next year, she was crowned by Miss World Peru 1981 Olga Zumarán. She represented the province of Lambayeque to succeed Miss World Peru 2015-Karla Chocano. Her runners ups were Silvana Vásquez, Silvana Vásquez, Ivanka Monroy García and Ana Lucía Leiva Pereira.

Pierina studies Business Management and defeated 15 other contestants to be crowned the national delegate. She is a descendant is of Chinese and has won Miss Tusan 2013 crown a pageant exclusively created for girls of Chinese -Peruvian descent. She likes to listen to music in her free time and also enjoys athletics.

Peru has two Miss World crowns courtesy of Madeline Hartog-Bel who won the 1967 edition of Miss World & María Julia Mantilla Miss World 2004.María Elena Rossel Zapata was first runner-up at Miss World 1959 and in 2002 Marina Mora bagged the second runner-up crown for Peru,apart from this Peeru has only placed thrice at Miss World Pageant.

23-year-old model Mariah LazCosta from Lympia was crowned Miss Cyprus 2015. Costa is expected to represent Cyprus at Miss World 2016. She succeeds Rafaéla Charalámpous who will be competing at Miss World 2015. The country has never been placed at Miss world pageant however placed at preliminary competitions but not a win at the competition.

Maria Morarou was crowned the Star Cyprus 2015 and will represent at Miss Universe 2016. Athena Loizou will participate at Miss Earth 2016 and Marina Kyriakou. Elena Charalambous took the Miss Young title.

Maria Laura Ramirez is Miss World Nicaragua 2016

Maria Laura Ramirez was crowned Miss Mundo Nicaragua 2016. The finals was held on October 25 at the Teatro Nacional Rubén Darío in Managua. She is 18 years old from Masaya.  and will represent the country at the Miss World 2016 pageant. She defeated 14 other contestants to clinch to the title and was crowned by the outgoing queen, Stefania Alema.

The runner ups were María Alejandra Alfaro (1RU), Oriana Julissa Sánchez (2RU) and María Gabriela Salgado (3RU)

Ramirez is currently studying Social Communications at the Universidad Centroamericana. She participated in Miss Teen Nicaragua 2013 which she said the contest made her a stronger woman and gave a lot of good experience which she wants to follow lifelong even though she didnt make it to the finals. She likes gymming, reading and writing, as she thinks intelligence is something that lasts forever.

Ever since her participation at the pageant, she wanted to win. Her main idea was to bring a change to her country with her influential work.

Natalia Short is Miss Cook Islands 2015. The 21 years old and 1.77m tall beauty queen was crowned at the end of the pageant held at the Roratonga's National Auditorium on Saturday, October 17. She defeated 11 other contestants to have the official right to represent her county at Miss World 2015 pageant in Sanya, China on December 19.

Other winners were Miss Earth Cook Islands 2015 Allanah Keri Herman‐Edgar (21) and Maine Purotu Manava 2015 Tumanava Wilmott (20) and the runners-up were Mariana Ngaputa and Josephine Enjoy.

Natalia considers the Miss Cook Islands pageant another opportunity and challenge that will help for her own personal development and goals as encouraging young women to develop themselves through both education and sport. Her hobby is sport precisely netball, she loves spending time with younger folk and has spent much time netball coaching school children both here and in New Zealand under programmes dedicated to improving netball skills for younger kids.

Katarina Sulkic has been crowned Miss Serbia 2015 in a pageant held on Monday, October 12. She will represent Serbia at Miss World 2016. She is 18 years old and represented Kosovska Mitrovica district at the national pageant. She succeeds Marija Ćetković of last year who will contest in the Miss World 2015 pageant.

Katarina Sulkic is a singer who once participated in a televised contest in her country. The program was called “Glas ibarske doline” and it is very evident that she is an excellent singer. This would allow Katarina to easily prevail in the talent contest when she competes at Miss World.

The country has never won the Miss World title since its participation in 2006. Miss Serbia 2015 runners-up were Bojana Bojanić (Miss Universe Serbia 2016) and Teodora Janković.
