Lauriane Sallin won Miss Switzerland 2016

Lauriane Sallin won Miss Schweiz 2016 (Miss Switzerland 2016) on Saturday, November 7 at the Basel’s Musical Theater on November 7, 2015 in Basel, northern Switzerland. As Miss Schweiz 2016, Sallin will represent Switzerland at Miss Universe 2016 pageant. Her runners-up are Chiara Kummer and Monika Buser.
She is 22 years old and bested 11 other contestants to win the title and succeed Miss Switzerland 2014 Laetitia Guarino who will compete at Miss Universe 2015.

 
The dark-haired beauty queen studied French and Art History and works in her aunt's boutique at weekend. She is passionate about all forms of Art be it drawing, writing or exploring in fashion and fascinated by the expression of human creativity in every phenomenon. She has become the ambassador for the Core Lina Foundation and works actively for children who are suffering from heart disease.
 
she wants to use her title to help affected people. “I hope I may work for children with heart disease,” she said before winning the crown.

 

Since 1953 Switzerland debut at Miss Universe pageant, Lauriane Gilliéron of 2006 is the only Swiss queen that has bagged the highest placement of 2nd runner up for the country after Lolita Morena made it to 3rd runner up placement at Miss Universe 1983. However, Switzerland has several placements as Top 10 and Top 15/16.
